Hi,

first post on here, so go easy on me.

I have done something which might not go down to well on here,

I have stripped down a 1994 ls400, and used engine, transmission, front subframe and rear subframe, basically all the suspension.

And put it all in a 1951 Chevy pick up, including the power steering,

I have managed to get the car running fine,

but the issue I have is getting the power steering working,

Even working out how it works, I'm struggling to get the solenoid to open when it is plugged in properly,

I gues I must have taken wires out that were needed!  The solenoid clicks when I put 12v to it,

I just can't get the power steering module to get it to do this.

 Can anyone help?

Or has anyone the wiring diagram book to help me out.

I will add a few pictures to show what I have done .

I hope I havnt upset anyone by taking such a magnificent car apart.

What a great build. Alas I can't help with your problem either but I'm keen to see your project develop further.

Hi Stuart

Go to www.clublexus.com  in the search box type in ;first generation power steering Bible.

 could be your answer there.

Nice job by the way.

it's good to understand that an elderly Ls400 has an after-life ............  it's brilliant

Now that's something completely different!

Nice tidy and well thought out transplant there.

Is it getting the 'rat' look or will you be putting lots of shiny chrome and paint on that lovely patinated Detroit steel.

Looks superb, love the real wood centre console...

certainly is getting the rat look,

clear coating the body on Saturday,

 in satin.

I just hope I can sort the power steering out,

or I won't be driving it anywhere.

 😔
