The highest depreciation is in the first year. 

If you look on the Lexus Used section - Lexus Liverpool is selling a CT200h Sport with only 3k on it for £18.5k. Bare in mind, that car will also have £500-1k worth of discount to be had on it so final purchase price would be £17.5-18k. 

If the dealer gives you top book trade offer, they'll be making £2k which is their usual margin

 I agree with Rayaans . This is why I never bought myself a new car since the one and only time in 1986!
