Hi,

I am new to the forum so i hope i am posting this to the right place. I own a GS450h 2007 recently a fault message appear on the dashboard. I did ring Lexus to get some advice but they asked for 180 to plug it to the computer and inspect it and then will give me better idea where the problem is and how much exactly would cost. It seemed a bit expensive 180 just for a diagnostic to give me an more accurate info and price.

I hope that someone can advice me with a good independent Lexus Specialist Garage in North London area. Or my best option is to go to Lexus and pay the 180 ?

Thank you

Welcome

£180?  Are you sure?  Jemca Lexus Edgware Road quoted me £86 to investigate any problems.  That should cover basic diagnostics, with additional cost if they need to look into it any more.

Although, the inexpensive option would be to get yourself a fault code reader and see what the code is yourself.  Should give you an idea of what is going on.  As long as it is OBD2 compliant, it should work.

Just see if any friends have an OBD2 code reader. If not and you could do with buying one yourself, they aren't expensive. Mine is a U581 OBD2 Scanner and cost about £25.
