I bought some leather conditioner this weekend. It's carplan leather valet. It's a thick cream but the problem is its all stuck in the thousands of tiny holes and it looks a right mess.

I've tried to vaccume it out but it won't budge. I've turned on the heated seats hoping it will melt out but to no avail.

Poking it out with a toothpick will take forever.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

It will probably come out over time (onto your coat/trousers)

I used a more liquid based leather cream on my seats and they seem okay.

How about putting a microfiber cloth on the seat and then heating it with a hairdryer or hot air gun while running the seat ventilation to blow the liquefied cleaner into the cloth . Hopefully it will then be absorbed into the cloth.

I had the same problem with my previous lexus with ventilated seats. I kept the heated seats switched on and it eventually disappeared after about 3 or 4 weeks.

Oh dear the dreaded leather conditioner mistake.

In future use less and apply onto the non-perforated parts of the leather first, that way you dont get loads of it inside the holes. Ive been using the gliptone conditioner in this way and had no issues

But, as to how to sort the damn thing, the toothpick method is your best bet.

Contrary to popular belief, heating it is just going to make it softer and stickier - think chewing gum. Ideally you'd want to freeze it but I doubt that'll be good for the leather and hence, better get picking!

Spend a good 3 hours today with the toothpick. Although it does the job I haven't even scratched the surface yet.

Last time I use that cream stuff.

Id probably be more careful with it next time. If you rush the job, its going to take twice as long removing all the bits!

Or you could just stick to a liquid sealant like Dodo Juice supernatural leather sealant!

I've just ordered a bottle from amazon rayaans.đź‘Ť

Should go without saying but please make sure you clean the leather first!

How about trying some sticky tape like parcel tape over the holes?
