my lexus cannot read disc error says insert disc. dealer is telling me new unit quoted over £1600

My old Honda CRV came up with the same message and i was directed to a company who sold me a a disc/dvd cleaning disc, it worked for me, it was circa £10 from amazon. Not too much to lose. I understand the laser gets clogged and this can be the solution. I am sure there were companies who will take it apart and repair it for a lot less . Good luck
