A question from a non technical owner. I very rarely use the sat nav but have been leaving it on when out and about recently. What are all the red circles on certain roads. Thought it may indicate heavy traffic but in reality the traffic is light.

It might be the feature that leaves a trail of where you have been.  You can switch that off somewhere.

Red circles you say? Could be that you've added some destinations leaving a big red circle. 

May also be speed cameras?

These a very small red circles with a white border. Loads of them on major roads. Will get the Lexus encyclopaedia out and try and find some reference to them.

I think they are the speed limit of the road you are on

If there are loads of them it'll probably be this, page 163 of nav manual

Found it. It was "Route Trace" now turned off, must have got turned on by mistake. Many thanks to all.
