Hmmmmm. Just looking out the window. How good is the IS-F in snow ;)

Sorry guys the above 2 blanks from me, the thread wouldn't accept a really good long term report from car magazine regarding their long term ISF and the snow which they ran in 08.

Easy to google, anyone on here got the car ?

Feeling quite smug about having winter tyres fitted, at least they would've been useful for one day of the winter season! weather is looking a little iffy  😓 but looking forward to it nevertheless, just hope it's not too treacherous!

I feel quite smug looking at the IS-F snug in the garage. My 200K Volvo XC90 quite happy in the conditions today. However, the Mrs took the Volvo and left me with her BMW 3 Series. YIKES!

The temperatures pick up on Saturday night, well above freezing so no snow or ice, sunshine and showers actually, it will be fine, as most of you will be driving gods anyway.....................................

IMG_0271.JPGFound, it won't put the longish article on here now think it illustrates the point, though they did say the snow button made not a jot of distance !

Doesn't it just reduce throttle response and maybe reduce traction allowing the tyres to spin a bit more? Nothing fancy basically.

You are right that's just what the book says,no substitute for proper winter tyres.

Most two wheel drives are hopeless in the snow.. even with snow mode.. that's the advantage of four wheel drive

Four wheel drive alone still no substitute for winter tyres - now the two together is as good as it gets.

Woke up at 1pm today as working nights this week, was expecting a load of snow but it has all just about melted.

Hopefully weather is kind tomorrow so I can give her a wash.

Quick wash before putting her to bed. Sadly it was a bit dark by the time I finished! Looking forward to tomorrow, wait for me if I get lost 😁

Russell easy place to find matey, just be a tad cautious when you leave the main drag and you are own the airfield approach road

it's a tad narrow and people coming towards you can be a bit quick.............. Not ISF's of course 😇

Puts mine to shame. I've been half way round South Wales today, and brought back most of the dirt with me!
