Hi

ive been having the p0302 error for a few weeks now, its for the second coil pack, ordered a brand new one on eBay, replaced it over, the code still came on, swapped 3 coil packs around in the engine, the error is still coming up as p0302 , any ideas why the error hasn't gone away yet?. what else could it be?

Pretty obvious but is the spark plug good? Other possibilities are the connecting plug or wiring to the plug and loss of trigger pulses from the ECU.

Did you reset the ECU to remove the stored codes after changing the pack?

Lexus suggest the following as possible cause (in order of likelihood)

  • Open or short in engine wire harness
  • Connector connection
  • Vacuum hose connection
  • Ignition system
  • Injector
  • Fuel pressure
  • Mass air flow meter
  • Engine coolant temperature sensor
  • Compression pressure
  • Valve clearance
  • Valve timing
  • PCV hose connection
  • PCV hose
  • ECM

Hi i used the code reader to read and remove codes , i have the platinum plugs installed for around 2 years, barely covered 20k miles , just to confirm number 2 is the second one from the front side of the radiator right?
