I must admit when I traded the 220d for my 250 I was expecting it to be rather thirsty but I'm pleasantly surprised on how good it actually is. I'm doing the same milage per week as I did in the 220d, mostly travelling to work and back with trips to the shops and visiting family at weekends and I'm spending £20 per week on fuel the same as I did in the 220.

I had a mercedes e220  before my first lexus and on paper it was more economical but was spending £30 per week for the same trips.

The last couple of weeks ive been doing a fair amount of motorway miles along the M54 from cannock - shrewsbury and back (approximately 70 miles) at a steady 70mph. According to the trip computer I'm averaging 43 mpg.

No complaints from me at all.

My work colleagues can't believe that I'm comfortable running a 2.5l V6 Automatic !  My commute is only 5 miles each way and mixed with a few longer runs I'm averaging around 30mpg.  BUT....my car doesn't go to the garage for repairs as often as theirs !

My annual mileage is only around 8k and I'm very happy with the Lexus experience.  Others don't know what they're missing.....shhh, or they'll all want one :winkiss:
