I have the recall for the fuel seal and the airbags but not taken it in yet - is there a cut off date to do this ?

My local lexus garage told me that it's highly unlikely to happen as they have heard nothing from HQ instructing them to do it

I had letters for both recalls. The fuel seal was done some time ago. Still waiting for the air-bag recall to be done. I can't see how these could not be done as the are safety related recalls.

Give your local Lexus dealership a polite nudge. I shall be doing likewise about the air bag. Send an email and then you have  documented trail to reference and act as back up to your case.

There is no time limit on safety recalls.

The airbag recall has not yet been implemented because there just aren't enough parts available - something like 100 million cars worldwide are affected and Takata and other manufacturers can't conjure new airbags up just like that, as well as cope with new car production - it's going to take a long time. Airbags are not things that are replaced as routine - most cars where the airbags have gone off are written off - have you seen the damage to a car's dashboard and trim when bags have gone off? - they are completely wrecked and it is all expensive and time consuming to rectify, quite apart from the cost of the airbags and accident damage as well.

As I have posted in other topic (IS-F forum), now they say the date for airbag might be April 2017 (which I doubt). Lexus Southend told me to call back in January, Woodford told me no earlier than April. Lexus recall management number told me "there is no reason to worry as it is safe" - which just indicates it is low priority for them and that when they receive stock of airbags they will send another letter.

Now you don't need to agree with me, but my opinion is that UK is very small market for Lexus and therefore we are low priority. The fact that 100 million cars are affected is true, but it was known to certain extent for 4 years, so they already had plenty time to prepare.
