Occasionally Used Cars?

Hi folks,

I work abroad usually for between 6 weeks and 8 weeks and come home for about 3 weeks. I garage my IS200 for the time I'm away, I don't put on the handbrake, I put it on a trickle charge and put a breathable dust cover on.

Anybody got any additional things to do to keep my beloved Lexus in good working order for my return?

Stewy.

Hi and welcome, well it sounds like your pretty much doing all that is needed, only other small things could be.....

lifting the wipers, so the rubber doesnt crack on them

storing in a heated enviroment

removing the wheels, to stop the tyres developing flat spots

running the car every 2 weeks will prevent flat spots, as long as the running journey isnt the same route each time......also ensure the car has a good run, otherwise the exhaust wont have time to burn of the liquid in the system, which will cause corosion from the inside/out
