Battery Help - 170mm high ????

My Car has been sluggish to start in the mornings last couple of days so looks like a new Battery is in order - the current one is an Exide EB705 - Dimensions 270 x 180 x 170 High - 70A 540CCA

Problem is i have tried looking online and all the batteries that are recommended for my car are 220mm high??? - I dont think they will fit

My car is Facelift 04 LS430

What should I do - any facelift owners out there who could confirm wether the 220mm one will fit?

I think most batteries are measured to the top of the terminal, not saying that you have measured wrong. Bought mine from Tayna batteries earlier this year, they list 6 or 7 for the LS430 all are around 220 - 225 to top of terminals. The problem on the mk 4 was the little protrusions at the bottom did not allow most batteries to fit into the tray but the one listed on tayna was perfect.

just looked again at tayna, although they don't list your Battery as the right one for the LS430 they do have it. The height is listed as 225 ?

ahh ok -  I will check again - I WAS measuring up to the top edge of the Battery

i replaced my Battery with one supplied by Tayna...it was E24 Varta Blue Dynamic Car Battery 2V 70 Ah (570413063) (069 071 072) total cost £58.45

 

that was back in March this year. Excellent Battery and fits perfectly....

 

Tayna are brilliant!

That should read 12v and not 2v...

thanks for all your input

I was measuring the Battery in situ and I didnt realise the Battery is a little deeper than it it appears by looking at the bottom of the Battery tray and thats why i was getting 170mm. Any way Battery was ordered monday and is expected to turn up today

Went to start the car yesterday and it wouldnt start so that was good timing. The current Battery is atleast 4 years old because it was the one the car came with when I bought it.

hopefully should be up and running later on today.

Boot is now stocked with de-icer, towels and ice scraper.

Battery did not turn up yesterday as it was not sent on time due to internet failure - its due today - lets hope Yodel don't let me down
