roof bars for rx450h with moon roof

hi all, just purchased a 2014 rx450h with full panoramic moon roof, love it but would like to fit a roof box for ski trips. I fear rails can't be fitted as I can only see covers at the rest that cover fitting points. Am I correct or has someone found a solution? Thanks Rob

Hi Rob,

My gut instinct is that you wont be able to fit the roof racks which the roof box would fit to.

On the standard roof, there will be 4 points integrated into the rubber drip lines (they're pretty obvious as they have black plastic covers on them).

If you can see these 4 points, then you will be able to fit the roof rails, if not then you cant so I would suggest taking a look up there or posting a picture for us to take a look for you. I presume that the 2 rear points are present but the front ones arent due to the glass but best to make sure.

Thanks, there are the 2 covers at the rear but sadly none at the front, just wondered if anyone knew of an arrangement that there is for fitting rails or bars for a roof box.

Hmm it seems that you won't be able to fit them then.

The only solution I can think of is some kind of suction cup system on the glass but I doubt that would be secure enough
