Sat Nav issues

Hello all,

I am a new member here, so firstly my apologies if this topic has already been dealt with.

I own IS250 F-Sport 2010, I have had complete failure of the Sat Nav unit.

The Buttons on the side controlling the Heater, Phone, etc. have all stopped working and also the screen gone black.

The buttons underneath the screen have stopped working as well, controlling the Rear Screen Heater etc.

I have had a "specialist" have a look at it and they have said it is not the Hard Drive failure but likely one of the circuit Boards.

I have spoken to my nearest Lexus Main Dealer, who have said that the parts are not available for repair and I need to buy a new unit at £2500 plus fitting !!!!!!

My question is, that I have found a second hand Sat Nav unit from a Lexus IS200 2011 Diesel from a breakers yard and was wondering if this would fit and work with my car?

Can any one help me please.

Don't know about anyone else, but to me this sounds like an electrical problem - like there's no power going to the unit. 

Have the fuses been checked? Has there been any work done that may have interfered with the wiring?

Hi Greg and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch so please dont hold back asking questions big or small should you have any problems with your car. We always welcome ideas on how to overcome problems with our cars but as they are the finest cars in the universe they dont go wrong that often.
