What does this do?

I feel embarrassed to ask, but on my LS430 behind the stereo controls on the left of the steering column, is a big button which has a logo that looks like a face speaking into a stereo speaker. The owners manual has nothing in it. What does this button do. The car has the premium pack in it.

No idea. Talking to yourself button when passenger is not listening. May be it silences the passenger.

Pull the button towards you to enable voice commands. She will say "Please say the command after the beep"

Oh, so if I say air conditioning on, does it switch it on? Sorry to ask but my first car was an Austin A40!

Surely you're not saying your Austin A40 didn't have this facility?  You obviously had a really basic model!

I guess we all say that, I wish I still had my blue 69 Chevy which was right hand drive!
