My GS450h

Hello 

Some of you may know me from Lexus related Facebook groups and to the rest - hi will introduce my currently owned GS450h.

Bought it 100% stock in January

 

Just like my previous Lexuses - i wanted a little bit more of sportier and lower ride so i got these

Right after i put them on car looked like this

 Some time later i have put spacers on the back

Not long after i also have put another pair of 15mm spacers on to the front aswell

Right after i came back from my 3 week holiday abroad i was welcomed by this.

So i have done this...

 

Traction Battery out, bad cell replaced, copper connectors cleaned. She was back on the road again.

 

Even managed to make some low budget clip with Go Pro cameras :)

Not long after i have decided to change my wheels. Got 19" 9.5j  ET27 allround

At the moment she looks like this

I dont normally like mods but I have to say the GS does look good in a very quiet way. They both have a quality stance on the road. Great pics & video thanks. Mike.

Love the wheels, although I will admit I am not a fan of the ride height being that low.  Perhaps I am getting too old for such things?

It always impresses me when people fix the hybrid batteries themselves.  It seems to always work out as a cheap fix as well.

Are you handy with mechanics and electrics?  Or did you just decide to have a go?

Love the way you had a go yourself and succeeded.

What did you do with the dampers you removed? If you still have them can I make a request from all us other 450h owners for them please?

If they are leaking we can try and get them refurbished. If they are OK I will swap them with mine and get mine refurbished.

What were the suspension units you used called?

Shahpor: I knew i cannot make it any worse than i t was and as i am quite handy with tools i decided to give it a go ;) Obviously googled some stuff before making an attempt to fix it and it's been all good since. Cost me £40 for the cell.

OldTrout: Unfortunately i have sold my original shocks some time ago. Aftermarket suspension i am using is BC coilovers.
