Blue smoke on start up

Just started my is200 there from yday n see sum blue smoke on start up only  few sec doesnt do it when hot just cold engine any1 any help plz i was think valve  steam seals or any1 else fit 2 help is it hard fix

yep agree with you sounds like valve stem oil seals

it wont be a cheap job as its normally head off

a work mate tried this in his bmw and the smoke was reduced significantly

he was so emmbarrased he would wait for everyone to leave before starting his car

starting his car looked like a scene from stars in their eyes (matthew kelly)

you put the whole can in the engine whilst it is hot.

i do the same get up early b4 ppl get up and start the car or wait till no1 is bout thinking of selling the car

My IS200 was the same - gave a small whiff of smoke on startup when the engine had been cold for a long time.

The engine still pulled strong and didn't use much oil between services so I just left it as is. The problem never did get any worse during my 4 years/25k miles of ownership.
