Hi Guys - just a heads-up for those of you with a USRS fitted to your cars.  Driving home from work today I noticed a rumbling/rattle from the front near side of my car.  Thinking it might be a loose wheel nut(s) I eventually sourced it to the spindle nut on my USRS that was loose.  Bit surprised and shocked at this, just glad it didn't drop off during a motorway drive etc.  I had mine fitted about six weeks ago and had only covered a few hundred miles.  I checked all the other nuts on both sides and all seemed okay.  According to the fit instructions the torque on the spindle nut is 83 lb.

Not sure if it was a mistake during fitting or a potential weakness in the system, but worth knowing about...

Cheers

Cheers James.

I'd be inclined to say it might have been an error in the installation chap. Not had any issues with mine since I had SRD fit them at the beginning of the year.

Can't recall seeing much about this kind of issue on the US forum either?

Easily done. :wink3:

Glad to hear you got it sorted though.

Yes - I'm planning on rechecking the tightness of the bolt at the weekend and don't expect any issues.  As you say it was either an installation issue or (as I suspect) done by the local dealer when doing my wheel alignment after the event.

Quick update - checked the spindle bolt on the unit yesterday and all good and tight - hopefully it was just a one off.

Good news James.

I'm quietly confident it was just a blip in either the installation, or when they did your wheel alignment chap.

Glad to hear it's still nice and tight.

Cheers.
