My recent ls400 purchase has the gold badges. And to be honest im not a fan.

Is it straight forward rmoving the boot one and the grill one. I dont want to break anything

Have you actually had a look at the grill emblem??

I've just checked the one in my grill 1 screw holding it in!! If it hasn't got a screw have a look for locking tabs

Regarding rear emblems get a hammer & thin tipped chisel. Please don't I'm joking.

Options,   hairdryer to warm the adhesive on the back of emblem,, slowly prize away or try something like cotton or dental floss to get behind emblem

Ive not got that far yet as im looking for chrome ones. Ive had over 100 cars and have never had to remove a badge

As mentioned the front is normally held with a single screw from the rear of the grille and 2 locking tabs, the rear is self adhesive with 2 or 3 locking pins.

Gentle warming with a hairdryer assists in rear badge removal or a spray of isopropyl alcohol temporary softens the adhesive.

As above, the front one is a doddle and you will see how it is fitted as soon as you open the bonnet. I have some chrome badges, bought off Baz via eBay, to replace my faded gold ones. Never liked the gold badges and think the chrome will look much better on my maroon paintwork. I had a little paintwork done and had them remove my rear badges. They had an adhesive residue on them, and also locating pins that fit into holes in the boot lid. They fit in a rubber grommet. I would also try the hairdrier and dental floss or very fine fishing line to work them off slowly. I just bought some 3m double sided tape to fix my "new" badges. I have uploaded photos of the backs of my old badges, as it may help you to know where the locating pins are
