My budget only allows for a NX300h S which is the entry level spec. I'm happy to have this spec as it has all the basics but I can't understand why Lexus have not included Parking sensors (front and rear) as standard . i understand they want customers to upgrade but even the SE doesn't have them. I think it will put off a lot of customers like me off, as rather than upgrading they'll just consider an alternative brand. It's quite a large car and I can't remember not having a car without them, Deal breaker for me unfortunately, you can’t even add them as an option, it’s crazy.

Does anyone know of an alternative or had them fitted at a dealer for a reasonable cost? I think i was expecting the spec to be similar to by 2015 IS 300h Executive which has everything I wanted as standard ( and a lot more) so might just keep that. Shame as I would have done with the extra height.

Thanks for that, they are in the accessories section, I would have thought they'd be in options but I couldn't see them there, I assume they are a dealer fit.

£800 for front and rear is a bit step though, thanks though, makes the car viable again.

No worries! £800 is a bit steep but it will be an OEM fit and will be included in your warranty so its worth the premium I guess

EDIT: Could always try negotiate them into the deal

If you are going for a new car, would it not be worth considering a nearly new, higher spec car?

I would imagine that a 1 year old Luxury variant, or even possibly a demo car should fetch for around the same as a SE? - It is also likely that it would fetch a higher price when you come to selling it on.

Thanks for the info, it's more the S that is in my budget. I'm not buying but contract hire via my company so don't really want to pay for the parking sensors, it adds another £23 pm  for three years which doesn't sound much buy it opens up other cars from different manufactures which have them included. I'd like to stay with Lexus but still will consider others.

Nearer the time when my IS300h goes back it might ask if they'll do a del on a luxury, it seems Lexus want to shift numbers as they offered to take my IS back without a early repayment charge.

Thanks for the info.

In your shoes, I would make an offer to buy the car on condition that sensors are added for no extra charge. It shouldn't be a problem.
