RX 400h lost cruise control and exceleration @ 80mphh

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I'm new to the forum. Hoping someone can give some advice to rectify this problem. I put my RX400h into Arnold Clark Toyota in Aberdeen to have rear and front disks replaced. Also had dreaded warning lights - check Hybrid System, check AWD, and check VSC, so asked them to run a check on these faults. Just to clarify, these faults had been coming on intermittently for past couple of weeks, only came on when starting the car, not while driving. Someone suggested the 12v Battery may need replacing, so I replaced the Battery and this appeared to solve the problem. No warning lights for around 1 week. However they came back on this time while driving to Arnold Clark. They were unable to determine the cause of the warning light faults, and after replacing front and rear disks I started driving home. Clicked the cruise control but nothing, no light. Put the boot down in overtaking lane, lots of power until I reached 80mph, then no more exceleration. I drove the car to Aberdeen on cruise control and had no problem with loss of power. What could the technician have done to disengage the cruise control and cause the power to fail at 80mph? Any help gratefully received.
