I'm after a good all round tyre, giving good grip in both the dry and wet, but also doesn't wear excessively quick.

Avon ZZ1's mate - cracking tyre, and great wear but careful in the wet......

OR

Toyo proxys - Excellent grip and in the wet but they are a softer compound, so will wear quicker...

Spoke to my local tyre supplier and they suggested YOKOHAMA AVS SPORT rather than TOYO PROXY T1-S's

Yoko's are probably the best you can get Chris.... but expect to be forking out for new tyres quite regularly because they have an even softer compound than Toyo's or Pirellis.....

They told me it was the other way around, with the Yoko's being cheaper and harder wearing

You get your new wheels then Chris?? Piccies mate!!

Haven't had them yet, just organising myself

never had any probs with the normal dunlop sp9000's - last for ages, i find them good in the wet( but then i dont hammer it around corners when its wet) and perfect in the dry.

Yeah, I swear by the SP9000's myself...

So, is the 225/40 for 18x8 wheels?

What is the reccomended size for 18x7.5? which one is better for the IS?

think you will find each person has differing opinions on tyres.

Personally.. i had the yoko AVS fitted wheni got the new wheels. marvelous in the dry but comethe wet i was nto impressed at all, which is strange as i highly rated them when i had cough a sierra 3 cars ago..

anyway i then stuck on the Avon ZZ1,, and i find them pretty good all round..

Chris, have a look at these Federal SS595's. I had them on my Civic Type-R and they were good! All the reviews are glowing about them. And £85 per corner! I would have them on mine now but don't do my size.

Federals

Top Gear also did a group buy for the Civic Type-R owners club at £50 per corner fitted for the 205/45/17 / 215/40/17 size so maybe they would do the same for us if there was enough interest?

Falkens are ok - nice and cheap but loud ! Have Dunlop 9000's on at the mo coz I got them free with my nice new wheels (see other thread about wheels for sale !!!) ;)

I prefer the Toyos which I have on my Pug 4bie but also had Bridgestones on my old Prelude which were the mutz nutz !!!

That is a good price had these tyres on my T5 .they wore quite quickly but then on a T5 they would

I'd add my voice to the Toyo camp.

I've had no grip problems in the dry or wet - and after 13k miles, they seem to have no discernable signs of wear, even on the edges of the two fronts

So its between Toyo Proxy T1-S's or Dunlop SP9000. All depends on price now :D

Dunno, I got my Dunlops for 105 quid a corner (fitted and balanced), and that was through the dealer...
