Hi all! Just wondering if anyone tried to play with turbo - manual boost controler? My previous car was turbocharged Volvo s40 2.0 T petrol!  I installed manual boost controler without any other engine upgrades! From stock 8 psi turned up to 18 psi with no problems - it was really quick and mpg 32-35 avg! I'm thinking if that would be possible to do on my Lexus 220d just add few more psi? Any suggestions please welcome!!! Thanks!

I guess your previous Volvo had 10 times more reliable engine than IS220d. While I cannot advise it terms of how easy it is to do and how much performance/mpg it would give. The fact is that stock IS220d barely runs without failing and the only thing Lexus did to facelifted IS200d was reducing power to improve reliability and emissions... I would say - I strongly advised not to boost.

Probably right... if I didn't get a lexus, I'd have gone to volvo.

I think Volvo are fab cars, and quite honestly the one that I have is a joy to drive, 185bhp diesel with a 6 speed auto box, and it feels solid and secure on the road, and of course they have a great safety history.

It's funny, I like the Volvo estates and the convertibles...I don't like the back of the S range much
