Hi all,

Seeing as our RX's take a huge gulp of screenwash, does anyone know if a highly concentrated screenwash exists?

Ideally something that you dilute 1:100 with water as I object to buying highly watered down stuff that's a couple of litres for a tenner!!

Thanks,

Chris.

Although I've not owned a BMW for the past fifteen years, I still buy their Windscreen Washer Concentrate because it's highly effective and                                       smells good.  The dilution ratio is 1:100, so a 50ml bottle gives you 5 litres, which is good for at least two sprinter-tankfuls and can be stretched further in summer.  It contains no antifreeze, but is still OK most winters unless temperatures go very low.  It costs around €3 per bottle -  presumably the same in the U.K. - and once used, there is no substitute.

You want Autosmart Screenwash

dilutes 1:40 but it works very well and no problems. £19 for 5 litres and generally, its what gets put in all cars nowadays as they only supply to the trade. Therefore you have 200L of screenwash for £19 lol

In the UK the BMW one costs about £5 for 50ml therefore giving you 5l of fluid. Gets expensive quickly!

Be wary about screenwash - certain screenwashes have a tendency to kill the pump.

Never heard of that. Not using enough could allow the water in the pump to freeze and split the pump. I've heard of very concentrated screen wash causing issues with paintwork.

BMWs are VERY particular about their screenwash. I believe the X5 gets pump issues. Gets clogged up with supermarket screenwash

Sounds like a particularly bad design. Never heard of this on a Toyota on our LOC or TOC forums.
