So I thought I'd compile a list to send to a Lexus UK. Would be interesting to see their response to what you guys hate about your cars.

Would be great if you could also back up your opinions and state which model you have in the comments below :)

For me I guess it's the service costs now that they've inflated the price and also made it fixed for all Lexus dealers. I have the 3rd Gen RX and 3rd Gen IS.

Is300h, despite being under warranty, will be getting the 40k service done independently, have been quoted £179 by independent I have used for a long time, as opposed to £445 by the dealer, who will then charge me for a loan car, and leave dirty marks on my light leather. I will though probably pay for the hybrid check.

For what is such a simple service, with no turbo's dpf's etc like a diesel, the costs are ridiculous, I am sure this is probably the biggest block for high mileage users, and the corporate market, especially  as service intervals are so short.

If your vehicle is a 2013 model then you should have 5 year warranty for the hybrid components, therefore why have a hybrid health check done at this point? The only benefit to  that is to extend the warranty beyond the standard but you have a couple of year to go before you need to do that.

GS300 2007 59K miles. Bought from Lexus Stockport in 2009 with 20K on the clock. Never had it serviced at Lexus due to very high costs. I have used a small local independent garage for this car and previous cars I've owned. They have the necessary diagnostic software and the cost is far lower than Lexus. (Might change my mind if I buy an RX hybrid, what do you think about using an independent for the hybrid, in or out of warranty?)

Hybrids don't need any special servicing requirements so I don't see any issue using an independent. If you needed work done on the hybrid system then you might want to consider taking it to a Lexus dealer or specialist.

The main reason to use a Lexus dealer is to keep the resale value high on newer vehicles or if you want to purchase the excellent Lexus extended warranty, as servicing at an authorised service centre is part of the T&Cs.
