Can any one help 

. just got best car ever but engine light came on. Had it checked and it says P0420 catalytic system efficiency below threshold. Bank 1 -7%

Thats a notorious code for being pretty much anything. Could suggest an exhaust leak or the CAT is shot so worth checking that out first.

Unlikely to be oxygen sensors as they have their own code.

We might be able to offer more help if you can tell us if you bought it from a dealer or was it a private sale and when was it bought by you?

Hi Katrina and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over.
