Belt buzzer

Hi, Can someone post a link to the original "Seat belt buzzer disable mail " After years of peaceful parking it's now active again and the original notes I made no longer work. Don't understand why, and have no idea on how to find a SEARCH button for the site now.

What are you trying to achieve?

( I know you can buy false-belts - though hopefully not to use when driving?! )

No, I know what you mean . It was something like turn the ignition whilst pressing the odo trip button and plugging in the seatbelt ! Odo changes to on or off . Hopefully someone will remember .

Hi,

I found this article but have never tried, hope this helps.

  
"Sit in car, close door, turn IGN to ON (the last position before starting the engine, but no need to actually start engine) and set Odometer to full mileage reading (ie not trip A or cool.gif
Turn off, remove key
Re-insert key, turn back to ON (as above)
Press and hold ODO button for 30 seconds (may be OK with less, but 30 worked for me)
whilst still pressing ODO button, clip in seatbelt
b_on or b-off appears in ODO display
take finger off ODO button, and press again to change between b_on (bleeper on) and b_off (bleeper off)
unclip belt and turn off ignition to set"

Many thanks for that Monte. It's almost the same as the one I did nearly ten years ago but sadly, neither of them now work. It seems odd to me that  I was able to (easily) disable the buzzer, as were lots of other lexus owners. We were all very grateful to the original poster.  Now it would appear that it's been blocked somehow.

I've never driven on the highway without a seatbelt but I do prefer to remove it whilst  parking - especially reversing. Seems there's nothing I can do about it now.
