car purchase advice sought

Hi guys, (girls ?) looking at an 02 sportcross auto with 170k miles, just had new cambelt etc, long mot etc, £1500 at a dealer, might this be a good/great buy fairly long term ? eml on but dealer says it drives fine, must admit to having had the same with my last fiat ulysse 7 seater after some exhaust work. myself and better maybe more sensible half will drive it too, looking ultimately at taking her and the sportcross to Spain.

Hi Jim and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over.

I cant help with your present queries but I'm sure someone will be along ASAP.

Wouldn't buy a car with eml on, if it's not serious, let him prove it by fixing it.
