Mk3 lack of stereo sound

So i take my wife to work Saturday morning and on route home i always have the car hand washed at a local place which happens to be next to toolstation,so i sat in the car while they washed and dried it,smashing paid up and drove seconds to toolstation,popped in there for some bits,loaded up and drove off,what no radio !! all display good,try cd,no sound either ! so checked radio 1 and 2 fuses both good,thought bugger its the amp :-( so next day popped out for summut else and just thought i will try once again and low and behold we have sounds back ????? very bizzare

Speedo was doing similar last year,been fine all over the winter and still is

Paul had something similar about 2 years ago.

Got in car drove 200yd downs road and noticed radio had not kicked in, the display looked fine but nothing happening.

Pulled over and stopped engine and then re-started.  Hey presto all fine, and never happened again.

Maybe some of that dark matter or a Higgs Boson had just passed through the system and it needed a reset.

Oh well spoke too soon,it wont give me any sound now,pulled both fuses again both good,disconnected Battery for half an hour,still no sounds,its got a pioneer head unit so amp must be the same ? and where might i find it ? 

Ok found the amp under the drivers seat,i was googling it and keep saying under passenger seat DOH all results were US
