Help, my lovely 1997 Lexus Ls400 will not start at all because when i insert the 'security fob' into the port on the side of the steering column, instead of the blinking red light changing to stopping on and allowing the vehicle to be started, it just keeps on blinking and so the car will not start.  I have 3 times dis-connected the Battery and tried waiting 6 minutes etc but nothingb helps.  Had to be towed home and many miles from Lexus dealer so in trouble.

Hi Edward and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over.

I cant help with your present queries but I'm sure someone will be along ASAP.

We recommend you spend a couple of mins looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later

Hello and welcome the LOC.

Have you tried another fob ( assuming you have one)? And does the central remote locking still work?

Not familier with your model year but to reset on the later models you have to insert the key, turn it to the ignition position, leave it for a least 6 minutes, remove it then finally reinsert it into the lock barrel.

media?id=952d13079974431386237bbe7170a05     Wow   my local garage contacted a chap who quickly came down and sorted the problem, was the Thatcher immobilizer and Tracker system,  He removed them and Hey Presto, once again a great car.  However being without my Lexus for 4 days really did me in, so I have bought a 'spare' see photo attached.  I need an Owners Manual for it 1999 model with Sat Nav.  Willing to pay + postage also anyone got an original Torch for the tool kit as i want to make this Top Notch..

Just read the Terms and Condition, looks good to me, although i am finding the site somewhat difficult to navigate, possibly because i am 'getting on a bit'  Are there any local, Ashfield. Notts Ls400 fans around who would like to meet up?

Good to hear you got it sorted.

I'm just down the A38 from you near Alfreton, I'll PM my contact details to you, think I have a toolkit torch somewhere in my collection of parts but no spare owner's books ( there are 2 in the set,one just for the Sat Nav)
