camshaft sensor

please can anyone help I have error code 13 that appears to be a camshaft sensor, I have phoned around the Lexus garages and they inform me that the camshaft sensor is no longer available, is there an alternative part no or can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can purchase one please. thanks in advance

Before you go to the expense of buying a replacement sensor check the wiring loom to them as this has a habit of getting chewed up by the serpentine/fan belt if is not correctly refitted after work has been carried out like a cambelt change.

wires looked good new camshaft sensors arrived and fitted but the problem is still there

If the timing belt is one tooth out it can cause this error. Worth checking your timing in case a belt change wasn't performed correctly or the belt has jumped.

I believe Timing belts vary by one tooth for different models.  I recall counting the teeth at my Mechanics workshop to be sure Lexus sent me the right belt, as it came without any packaging.

checked my belt it looks like it is one tooth out on the passenger side when on TDC when I turn engine 180 deg its one tooth out on drivers side so are the notches ment to line up on both sides or one of then be one tooth out please
