Shaker plates and single person MOT shops

Hi all

Useful tip I learned.

A lot of single person MOT centres use shaker plates. Basically they put your front wheels on metal plates which vibrate like crazy, and this is supposed to be a quick way to detect wear in steering or front suspension components. Downside is they are not good for tracking settings and tend to throw up spurious errors.

Think the answer is finding someone you can trust with your car As ever.

To get black taxi plate they used to use this method to check your suspension but not anymore as now you do normal mot.never seen it done on normal car mot
