Mines up for renewal. Tried admiral as the wifes with them. On a multi car policy.  My ls400 is 620 and for the is300 they want 690. That's for a 47 year old with 13 years ncb. Is that a bit steep

Very steep.  I am a good few years younger, with less ncb, - the fully comp protected insurance for my modified  LS430 is £385 with my girlfriend also on the polilcy

I always found multi car policies to be an expensive con. I use my no claims bonus on my main car and put my LS 400 on a classic car policy with RH Specialist Insurane (around £200 for me, includes European travel. Previously did the same with my MX5

I've got the ls on my old mx5 policy.  Still got the 5 and at this rate it'll be the only one I'm keeping.  Admiral wouldn't even insure my eunos. So Im with Adrian flux at moment.  That quote with admiral was based on 4000 miles a year too

Snap...i ve also got an LS and and a eunos mx5

I'm currently with LV but they want more to renew than Saga so I may change.

You might have to be over 50 for Saga but worth a phone call or on-line query.

I will. I bought the ls to replace my eunos . But cant bring myself to sell it. Hence why I'm not prepared to pay to much on the ls

I have admiral multicar - £460 for my RX and £280 for the IS300h for one year.

The thing to remember is - prices depend on where you live due to the accident rates, stolen rates etc. It also depend on car desirability and where you park, how much you drive etc etc so its not as simple as you think it is.

It may seem steep to someone in an area with low rates of accidents and stolen cars but itll seem cheap compared to someone in a place where accidents happen alot for example. All a matter of perspective. The best thing to do is go on comparison sites and also use brokers to find the cheapest quote possible for YOU!

Been on go compare and found some almost half price.  Even admiral were 200 cheaper on there.

Try Lifesure - used them many times...

.............. some of you may remember the Saga saga for me a few years ago now .........  well, I'm back with them, their prices were just unbeatable this year ( lots of surprises there too ) and the Ls400 is £268 for 12k miles fully comprehensive with a ( what now seems standard £350 excess ) and £138 on the Mazda 323f ( limited 5k miles and  £250 xcs )

................that's with a full ( and more ) 9 Years NCD and zero change in my circumstances

Beat my last year's local broker's quote, now with Sabre Insce, by about £225 for them both ..............  my suggested premium for the Lexus with Markerstudy ( last year's Lexus insurer,)  which last year was @£323 they wanted @£2k  ......  barmy.

I use Chris Knott for every day insurance and Footman James for classic.

Classic on the lexus is <£200 and a mere £46 for a Peugeot 205.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm 25 with 8 years no claims, an IAM certification for 6 years, and my un-modified Mk3 is £1450 per annum with £400 compulsory excess.

I am all for having the right kind of cover but is sounds like you are being done over a bit.

Who are you with and what mileage and extras have you got on the policy?

Admiral, 36,000 a year (sounds a lot, but it's only average of 100miles a day), 16,000 of which is business, inc. legal cover, no breakdown.

When renewal comes up, be sure to ring Chris Knott as they are real people (brokers) and do "proper insurance". Havig had to deal with Admiral outside of just renewing insurance, I will never use them again (nor elephant or diamond).

We're paying £230 with Performance Direct, ours is a tricky one as it's LPG. Adrian Flux also like Lexus for some reason.
