I'm interested in this. I had the factory iPod prep retrofitted to my old '09 GS450 and whilst it played music fine, no track names, playlists or anything showed up. The kit seemed to (very simply) emulate another CD changer, with playlists being shown as CDs 1-6, and the songs in the playlist being tracks 1-whatever.

This IVIC thing looks brilliant. I've got no issues with plugging my phone in every time.

Has anyone actually got/installed one of these?

Where do people tend to fit the unit and is this a job best undertaken by a professional?

as you say you have to plug the device in, does this mean you just run the cable form the IVIC through to say the dash/centre console?
