Problem With My Is250.

Recommended Posts

Hey, people!

First I want to say that, I´m from Estonia and that's why my English will not be the best. :)

I needed to join, because we don´t have Lexus forums, clubs or groups in Estonia.

I also have a question. Yesterday, when I drove my car, I saw an anomalia. I made a video about this, maybe someone have had the same problem?

I pressed the gas, but car didn´t do what I wanted, IS250 2006.

There was also a little smell, like a burned milk. After the video I stopped the car, turned in off. Then I waited for a few minutes and turned in on. Then there was no problem.

Don´t look "Check engine" and VSC lights.

We checked with computer, but there was no errors (only this VSC). First I thought, it´ll be problem in transmassion, but finally we think that, problem is in the fuel pump.

My speech in video is Estonian, I think you don´t understand it. :)

Link for video is here:

Hi Teet and welcome to the LOC. Your English is far better than my Estonian. We are a
friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and
put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer
left over.

I cant help with your present queries
but I'm sure someone will be along ASAP.

We recommend you spend a couple of mins
looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later

you will need to read that engine light.

have you done the basic things ?

how does the oil, engine coolant look like ? any smoke ? how does the exhaust gas smell?

Burned milk smell. .. any idea where it is coming from? if it's sweet might be coolant. What about wheel? the are not hot right ?

any chance of clogged exhaust or egr ?

if you suspect fuel delivery how is the starting of the car ? Tried cleaning air filter, MAF and MAP sensor ?

Tried pulling out the spark plugs ? How do they look like ? Any oil on them or fouling ?

Seems the car has done a lot of miles and was it taken care of ?

Hmm... well it's auto. And the traction control lights are illuminated. Perhaps a fault in the transmission/torque converter. Has the fluid been checked recently? Probably would benefit from being changed anyway at 240K+ Kms. Burnt transmission fluid can smell like burned milk.

Don't see how it can be the fuel pump. Why did you think it wasn't the transmission? Faulty transmission will show the VSC and engine lights

Yes, it is auto.

We made a diagnostics and got three error codes, what causes VSC and Engine Lights. Last owner of the car has changed the lambdas and he propably putted into that cheaper lambdas.

All seems good, but if there was colder days (about -25C) then I felt some sulphur smell (my friend said that, it´s normal if you have a fuel car).

With starting the car, there have been no problems.

Whats the mileage on the car is it auto or manual.

Its about 243kilometres and it´s auto.
