I do the majority of my driving around local areas, and have little opportunity to "Clean the plugs" with a few revs! I have used iridium plugs in previous motors with good results on low rev running; does the same apply to LS400's, or maybe they have iridium plugs as original equipment? If anyone has experience I would be glad to hear. Thanks, Guys.

... hi. I remember the plugs I used in my Mk1 and Mk2 Ls400s were " standard " plugs and lasted 60k miles before changing........... OEM

The word is NGK Iridiums are the way to go, apparently good for 100,000 miles.

Just looked up the price of "normal plugs" from ECP.

Over £18 per plug

Just checked, £38 inc delivery for denso plugs, equivalent to SK20R11, which is the code for the genuine plugs in the eBay ad I mentioned.

That's pretty good, but is there any risk of extra charges, as they're from the states?

I've just ordered a complete timing belt kit including waterpump and all seals and gaskets from the USA for less than half the UK price and this included delivery and pre paid customs charges.

If you are running on LPG you may need a hotter plug.  A Member recommended Brisk plugs and though Ive yet toinstall my LPG kit (and maybe never with this price of Petrol?) they seem pretty good. Wasn't particularly happy with a set of Leads that I bought at the same time. Have kept the originals as spares.

when I had my Mk1 and Mk2 I was aware that the leads  ( not on later models ) lasted about 180k miles before needing replacement
