Deep pools of water in boot wells on each side and where spare goes checked boot lid seals seem ok any suggestions pleas

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

Was the car parked facing downhill by any chance?

Even though the boot seal looks OK the lip on which it fits can rust and this swells up the seal, I would remove the seal and check under it.

Also check that the drain tubes and the trims they attach to on both sides are located correctly.

Have you had new rear number plate, attached with sticky tape ?

I've heard of water ingress through holes previously used to attach the number plate. Just a thought....

Mine has one on each side at the high part of the boot channel on both sides of the car. A plastic piece of trim collects the water and it drains by a tube in the centre of the bottom of each of the trim pieces.

Others on Club Lexus have posted about water in the boot so it's probably worth checking with fellow owners in the US too.

Same problem here with my SC. mine seems to be from the uppermost corner where the seal joins the rear window.

if you have to order rubber parts, check out the sites in the states. Much cheaper. I just got one cost £140 here and paid £35 including shipping.

Dam pic always goes in upside down.

Eventually got it fixed. Had to get Lexus to supply and fix new seal that joins the window. Perfect now. Cost me £550
