Hi All,

I have been suffering from unstable driving in a straight line. At first I thought it was like tram lining issue which was referred to a wheel alignment. I have been advised that it was quite a bit off. Took the car for a drive and it was exactly the same. Took to the different garage and done alignment again no adjustments were made due to being spot on.

Worst it's being on main roads which has got some small groves and catches every single one pulling the steering wheel out of hands gently.

Second worst if there is a light side wind it goes from left to right again pulling steering wheel out of hands.

Checked suspension by few mechanics and didn't find any loose or worn parts.

Any suggestions or similar experiences?

Could be that garages are using wrong alignment specifications such as the new GS or older GS specs.

Could even be something like over tightened wheel nuts on one side or something wrong in suspension or steering setup

I've no practical experience, but in researching GS450h as a possible replacement for my old IS, I have read on some American sites that there are reported problems with the electric power steering system. Might be worth bit of investigating.

Tyre pressure, type/profile of tyres can have drastic affects on this kind of behaviour.

I have the same problem, I hope someone will post the answer. Thanks.

I went to Reading dealer,  they just checked my tyres pressure (made34psi) and so far I had no chance to test it. But if that continues,  they said thay will check the motor. I'll post if anything changes.

Did you sort out your problem Arnasx?

Tyre pressure were tested on numerous times and it didn't change anything. I have been told to change stearing rack bushes which will sort the issue. On inspection they hard to analyse their condition but replacement sorts the issue. It has been reported by some users. Didn't have a chance to change them and now upgraded to Rx400h.
