What colour smoke are we talking?

Usually white smoke which is like vapour is just condensation. Thicker white smoke could be due to coolant burning.

Blue smoke could be burning oil.

Basically take a look at oil and coolant level and check to make sure it's not excessively consuming. Also check your mpg. If it's ridiculously low then you may be burning too much fuel

Hi, it is white smoke and seems to be more when the car is cold, just heating up, but it is quite a lot of smoke. I have just topped up the engine oil level as I got dash warning saying it was low but car was smoking before then. I am just about to sign upto the 2 year monthly service plan with Lexus so was trying to find out what it could be before I do. Thanks for your reply.

Well its not oil as its white smoke. Sounds just like condensation and not much to worry about. Any car will smoke in winter.

Where are you buying fuel from and how much do you drive? You'd be surprised at how quick petrol goes off

Hi, I always use BP ultimate fuel and the car is driven everyday to and from work, roughly 12 miles and once a week to Glasgow, 70 mile round trip. I use BP ever since my is220d EGR valve got blocked and I was using tesco/ morrisons fuel then! 👍🏻

Try using standard BP. The BP Ultimate has poor usage. The stuff stays in their tanks longer so will inevitably have more condensation in it
