Parked my car as usual at work this morning and locked it, got a phone call from someone in the depot (I'm a bus driver) telling me all four windows are down on my car, very strange, anyone got any idea what could have caused this to happen? Worst of all it was raining quite heavy as well so seats are now soaking wet.

Likely to be a setting in your key fob.

If the button is pressed and held for a longish time (don't know time length) then all windows +sunroof will open. Purportedly to assist cooling of a hot car in the summer!!

To my mind its a stupid idea.

Quite a few folk have fallen foul of this in the past. Someone had a car full of snow!

Think you have to get Lexus to change the settings electronically.

Borrow a dehumidifier and leave it in car all night....should extract most of it pretty quickly. Bloody irritating I'm sure!!!!

We've been here before. What did you do after you left your car?

This can happen because of a spurious long press on the unlock button on your remote - possibly by sitting down with the fob in your pocket, or bending down to tie a shoelace or whatever. Or maybe because a coincidental radio signal was received which fooled the car into thinking you had done such long press.

It is a setting in the ecu (ie put the windows down with a long press on unlock, along with put them up with a long press on lock. Although no-one ever seems to complain about that). It can easily be changed (disabled), but you need access to a Techstream system (eg software on a laptop with the appropriate cable connector). We're not allowed to talk about how you get thus equipped here!

A dealer can do it for a usurious charge.

Thing is I never lock my car with the fob, I always use the button on the door handle

The fob is wrapped in tissue and kept in my bag

Thanks for the replies guys, it must have been as johnatg suggested and the button must have been inadvertently pressed whilst in my bag

Will now wrap it in something firmer

Love this forum for problem solving
