Red Leather Staining Clothes.

Recommended Posts

Just a quick one chaps,

For those with the red leather seats in their car. Have any of your white/cream items of clothing been 'stained' by the colour of the seats?

I've had 2 rather expensive white shirts effectively ruined by the colour of the seats rubbing onto the shirts.

Any way I can address this minor niggle with the seats?

if the colour is rubbing off i would say there is reason for concern,as there will come a point where

you will get to the hide and have no colour left , go see you dealer and maybe take a ruined

garment to show the issue you are facing ,once they have agreed its under warranty put a claim in for

your ruined clothes.

Its not a problem with the seats themselves.

Ive had this - not on shirts but when cleaning the leather seats there was colour on the MF

The colour seems to be coming from the inside of the perforations around the edge where its not sealed.

I would think its to do with wet shirts with remnants of washing liquid that does it. Either that or the IS is using high grade semi-aniline leather/aniline leather

Best bet would be to get a leather sealant - DODO JUICE supernatural leather sealant will do the trick
