Heater Fan

Well I've had my car for a few weeks now and I have a question. When I set off for work in the morning, I've noticed that the heater fan doesn't come on until I've been driving for 3 minutes. This might not sound like a long time, but my journey to work is only 10 minutes or so. Is this normal?

I've noticed that it only happens from cold start in the morning, if I use the car at weekend and do a few short journeys, the heater comes on almost immediately on the second and subsequent journeys.

Off topic - How do I contact admin on this forum, the forgot password function doesn't appear to be working and I can only post from Tapatalk.

It's because you have it in auto mode and it's clever enough to realise no point in pushing cold air around the car until the engine has warmed enough to make a difference though. Having said that mine comes on after about a mile/ 3 mins. If you have used car already in day, there is still a bit of warmth in engine so it will come on quicker.

If you want some initial air to blow to clear the windscreen, just it the button to switch to max screen, but won't warm up any quicker.

Thank you Rich2508. As long as I know what I'm experiencing is normal, I'm happy. I do use the windscreen demister to clear the screen.
