When you get your renewal notice from the insurance company why is it so much more expensive than getting a new quote from the same company from their website?

Does anyone else find this or is my family being singled out as it happens to myself, my wife and my daughter?

The renewal for my daughters car was £661. New quote on their website £505. Now I wonder what she will do.

It is absolutely crazy.

I've noticed this. I guess they discount new policies and guess that people won't check when they come to renew.

I also hate insurers that ask "what is your best quote so far". You know they will beat it by only a small amount. Or the others that say "If you get a better quote elsewhere then come back to me and I'll see what I can do."

Your daughter should save the website quote of £505(if possible). Call them up and tell them about the website figure. They should match the website price if they've any morals about them. If not cancel the renewal and ask for proof of NCBs and buy the quote of £505 off the website. Nothing they can do to stop this.
