Does anyone know the steps to remove the driver's seat. I need to have the seat base cover stretched to remove a lot of stretch and sagging of the leather due to the size of the last owner who slid into the seat and pushed the seat base leather towards the centre console. Over 8 years of this constant inability to drop himself into the seat he effectively was pushing the seat cover sideways and thus causing a lot of folds in the leather. A trimmer I know has agreed to un stich the cover and re work it to get rid of the excess stretch. I just need to remove the seat, separate the base from the upper section so I can just hand it over to him.

Move the seat to the fully foward position and you should be able to access the 2 rear fixing bolts and remove them, then move the seat to the fully back position and you should be able to see the 2 front mounting positions, these may have covers or carpet over them which will have to be pulled back to expose the fixing bolts.

Disconnect all the wiring looms to the seat underneath, be aware that the seat will have a side airbag so disconnect the Battery negative terminal and leave for at least 10 minutes to discharge the back up system for the airbag or it may go off unexpectedly!

These seats are heavy so get assistance to remove it from the car, protect the sills from scrapes during removal.

If you would like a copy of the exploded diagrams feel free to PM me ypur email address.

Also, the 460 seats have cooling as well as heating so there must be an aircon duct of some sort as well. I haven't really looked under there so my knowledge is limited.

Thanks Steve for the info, sorry new to this forum so could you advise how I PM my e mail address to you. I would like to see the exploded diagrams.

Also I was seeing e mails in my MSN account advising me that members had posted a reply but for some reason they have stopped appearing so I never know who might have posted a reply. I have to go into the forum and look for the threads I have started or replied to. Have I clicked something I wonder which prevents this notification in my MSN mail box?
