I was reading a review of the new Prius the other day in which it mentioned it has occasional 4wd by means of a separate electric motor to the rear wheels. Wonder if that technology will find its way into the next CT200?

Has anyone seen any gossip about when that model might be expected?

It is likely that the next Auris/CT would adopt the same Prius drivetrain but they could certainly remove the rear motor if they needed to reduce costs or increase boot space. Unlikely to see a new generation until 2017 though.

You may find it will be a Full hybrid. System uses engine to drive front wheel & e-motor to drive rear wheels.

Current set-up only drives front wheels via engine & e-motor on front axle.

Full Hybrid allow AWD feature where required.
