Hi folks!

I own an IS250 SE with the standard front tyres size 225 45 17 and rear tyres 245 45 17. They all have lower thread (front worst and rear) and I was thinking of changing them all at the same time . As anyone swap the rear tyres from 245s to 225s? Will it affect the drive and comfort? Also, suggestions for tyre brands are welcome. Many thanks.

I would not think 20mm would make much difference. Having said that i have 235 winter rears never used yet as only purchased car around may.

I run with falken on my octavia Vrs and put them on the rears of the lexus. The fronts are Dunlop and when they need replacing they will also

be Falken. They grip good in wet and dry a tad noisy but also good wear.

Be careful, check with your insurer as deviating from the manufacturers stated tyre sizes may result in problems if you have an accident.

I believe in the real world you would not notice a difference. Dont know what the stance is like but best way try a front on the rear.

Hey man! You might not get the same respect from the 320 driver behind! :-)

Thanks for all your replies.

I'm still looking around for prices and to be honest, tyres are not something that is changed very often, therefore I might stick with 245s at the back.

Joel Figueira, yes it seems that it doesnt make a difference (by the way, loving your profile pic).
