Gs300 Rear Parking Sensors

Hi I have just brought a 2002 GS300. It seems to have parking sensors on the rear bumper and I found this controller by Laserline 4003 in the boot all wired in. However I get no parking sensor information on the Navigation screen. Do the sensors have to be activated by Lexus or am I missing something? I have trawled through all of the Menu options but there is nothing about the sensors. the manual says they should come on when "R" is selected.

the ls430 has a button on the right hand side under the steering wheel with a "p" on it - this switches off the parking sensors - just make sure yours are not switched off.

Thanks Mark. I had checked if there were any On/Off buttons anywhere but I can not see any. Just double checked on the side of the steering wheel again, but nothing.

Might be worth checking if the "speaker box" for them has not been disconnected.

Dave Where do I find the speaker box. The only sort of speaker grill I can see apart from the ones connected to the sound system, is a small grill next to the headlamp washer button.

May be on rear shelf. With your radio on low check all possible speaker outlets to see if 1 is not connected to radio. Not certain but I don't think it is the grille you mention. Is it aftermarket? If not your handbook or local dealer should be able to clarify.

Will check tomorrow Dave as its now dark. The system is a Laserline EPS 4003 it looks like it may be an after market system, however it does look like its part of the wiring loom so I am not sure. Its located behind the boot interior panel that covers the radio aerial.
