perhaps it was seen as a selling thread?

I burst out laughing when I read that, but yes, that must be it.

I wonder how many hits a 'gold member' would get here compared to gumtree? About 100x less?

I posted it because whilst I would get there fast if I was in the uk, I am 1200 miles away and it's darned awkward and risky to sort remotely, so I thought a member might benefit.

Plus, if someone would have cared to look, I changed my car status 'ex ls430' when I sold mine last month.

With admin manners like that I think I will know what to do next time.,

Disappointing.

Admin manners??? Just rules.. nothing heavy handed about it nor funny

The reason you were posting it here is the same reason people look for cars on a club. They are looking for a decent car that a member has looked after and cherished.

Gold members can post but everyone can see and we dont claim to be as good as gumtree, but the chances of getting a better car than on gumtree is probably 100x more.

Hi Stuart, The reason I pulled your post was because all you put was a link directly to gumtree with no explanation or description about the link other than the title.

The rules which I am sure you have read say as follow...

All unauthorised advertising or soliciting will be removed without
explanation and without notice. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Directing members to external websites.

Mike.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused.

I actually replied to that thread, and it seemed no different to many similar ones before it.

Have the rules changed, or their enforcement?

I'd like to know, as I've often posted links myself, that I thought might benefit other members.

No problem with that provided it is not you, or somebody you are associated with , that would benefit from the sale unless you are a gold member.

I'd just request there is some form of brief explanation to go along with the link to make the moderators jobs easier.
