Hi, I'm new to this club having just bought a 2006 RX400h. I really want to upgrade the sat nav but cannot find where the disc is in the boot. I've tried looking for a covered slot as suggested on here but can't find it. Does that mean I have got to take out the tool tray? Any help would be restfully received.

No, there is a hatch on the right hand side of the tool tray which you remove to expose the player.

The following post has a picture of the DVD player with the cover removed:

you can get them from Lexus:

http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu

type in your existing part code on the disc and it will automatically select the latest disc that works in your system.

They are quite expensive, an alternative is to look on eBay for somebody splitting the disc set if all you want is the UK disc. Be very careful to get the correct one though, there are multiple Lexus navigation generations which aren't compatible with each other.

You can also get them from a couple of other places non genuine, I currently have a 2013-2014 one from here http://satnavdiscsale.com/lexus-sat-nav-20-c.asp or found this place http://satnavdiscs.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=329 which works fine my previous one was a 2009 from Lexus just swapped over. Only thing I've noticed with this one is I can,t change the destination on the move where I could on the 2009 disc but maybe they have changed that command back as my previous 2005-06 disc was the same .

Mad Harris,

The first link in the previous reply is from a company which I think may be another trading face of http://www.satnavdvd.co.uk.

I had a lot of bother with this site. After returning a disc which did not work in my GS450h they refused to honour their no-questions asked guarantee and give me a refund. I opened a dispute with PayPal but because the address they gave PayPal for returns was not the one they gave me, PayPal could not confirm the return despite my signed for tracking information! PayPal therefore closed the dispute and suggested I try and resolve matters with the seller!

PayPal have made an ex-gratia payment this morning but it was a lot of hassle and I still have a 2006 disc.

The second linked site has interesting terms and conditions. They are a backup service. If you use them you confirm that you own the original.

If only Lexus would split their map sets into four and charge a quarter the price each, these sites would lose business (and I would have an up-to-date disc).

Bought mine off a chap who never used it but he got it from the above, it seems to work ok at present so perhaps take johns advise as I didn't deal with them directly, I still have my 2009 disc for back up if it stops working etc, but if these companies can do them for that price surely Lexus can reduce there high price for there's

You should leave them a review:

Just get one of of eBay (This is what I did for both my GS and RX) that both have 2015 discs in them now :)

There are many users in Eastern Europe who buy the whole set but have no use for Western Europe/UK so sell the discs off. Just be careful with the feedback scores and you should be fine.

I noticed yesterday that two sellers of discs for West Europe had appeared on eBay. One from Dresden had just the West Europe discs available. The other seller from Dublin had lots. From his other items it would seem that he is buying sets of four discs and selling them separately for total cost of about £253.

Why don't Lexus split their four pack and make every buyer happy and eliminate the sellers of counterfeit discs?

Which of us here would not pay slightly more for a genuine disc?

Any readers here from East, Central and North Europe want to share a pack with me?

I am having trouble working out what I need. Looking on Lexus map buying I think mine is a Generation 01. Then I put in the number that is on the disc - there were two - 86271-53030 and 86271-60V660J (which also says 2005-2006 version 1) and nothing happens. Not sure what to do now as don't want to lay out for a wrong disc. Any ideas please
