Radio Interference

I've noticed on my is250 that some radio channels seem to be getting worse reception recently. Now my gs is starting to do the same thing.

Has anyone else experienced poor radio reception. Is it a component that breaks down over a period of time perhaps?

For me it noticeably bad when listening to radio2. Very odd. It was perfect about 6 months ago and now it's got so bad that I have to flick over to a cd.

Might be worth getting the radio scanner to find other transmitters for your stations to see if you can get a better one. Mike.

The radio should automatically scan for the best signal. When I travel from Blackpool to Burnley listening to Radio Lancashire, it starts tuned into 103.9 and finishes at 95.5. (It may pass 104.5 on the way)

Radio Lancashire put different things on different frequencies. The Blackpool match will be transmitted on 103.9 and the Burnley match on 95.5, so you can start listening to one football match on one side of the county and get another match as that frequency moves out of range.

Hmm, maybe I have turned the scan function off by accident as I'm sure it's not adjusting itself.

If the system shows the station name on the display, the RDS is definitely on. If the frequency is displayed, it may be off.

I have similar reception problems with my GS - weirdly some days all works fine and then it will go very poor. In the end I fitted an EZI DAB unit which gives great reception 99.9% of the time.
